some insurance help please.

arright this is my situation

im going to california nex week . only prob is i dont have a car. when school starts i'll need one. so what does a new yorker do to get a car in california. where do i get insurance for a guy from new york to get coverage in california. how do i go about signing a mortgage for a car in california for a guy from newyork. i need to do all this shit in a weeek.. fawk me.

oh yeah 1 more thing. if any of you california people drive and can provide me with some insurance companies that would be kool. and i was wondering if you guys get geico and progressive insurance out there too. what other national insurance providers are there.

You might want to get a California Driver License before you buy a car or get insurance.

I don't know about the first part, but as for insurance comapanies, we do get Geico and Progressive. Here's some more:
-Triple A
-21st century
-Allstate
-Farmers
-State Farm
-Survival
