compression ratios
wut's good wut's bad. I know that superchargers and turbo kits change the compression ratio but what's a good compression ratio?

Increase the compression ratio - Higher compression ratios produce more power, up to a point. The more you compress the air/fuel mixture, however, the more likely it is to spontaneously burst into flame (prior to the spark plug igniting it). Higher octane gasolines prevent this sort of early combustion. That is why high-performance cars generally need high octane gasoline - their engines are using higher compression ratios to get more power.

how much compression you could run depended on a lot more than the engine itself; like the fuel supply, cam timing and how the fuel and timing curves are tuned.
maybe 11.5:1? i seriously dont know. the older guys with more experience like carl should answer soon.
oh, I see I see
well the ratio in the car I wanna work on is 9.3:1 I think. 9.xx..I know that. I wanted to compare against wut's considered decent. ish an old M10 1766cc SOHC Inline 4.
I wanna find a BMW M3 or M5 Engine and Tranny so I can engine swap and do a tranny swap too so my old ass bmw will own heh.
this is the car that I have but wanna work on. but mine will be red/orange.
