Disturbing ?

I don't know how many people have heard about this? 2 korean girls were ran over by a US tank. I guess it was a while back. It's kind of a disturbing picture... should i have posted this in other pictures.. i don't know. Jeebus those. Not for the faint of heart. I heard the solidies who were in the tank weren't put to blame for what happened. i don't think anyone was? i really don't know the story behind this.

yes i'm well aware that it happened a WHILE ago. hey but it still happened and i had no idea about it.

This isn't the first time this sort of thing has happened (well of course), my physics teacher used to be in the military and last year he told my class a story of when he was stationed in germany. Cars there would cross whenever there was an opening and would speed by, but one time there was a military procession of sorts, i think just moving some tanks or something, and a car was run over by one of the tanks, it was a sick story.

Sick... but how do you get run over by a tank? I mean, aren't they like slow? Or am I mistaken? I know the Abrams tank can go 45 mph tops. That's still wrong though.

yeah i mean how do u get run over by a tank, there slow and really big.. unless they came from behind but there pretty much loud...... how did they get run over?

It's a little disturbing but understandable. Tanks are, as you already know, very massive vehicles. They don't turn on a dime. If the girls just walked out in front of it, there might not have been enough time to do much of anything.
I think there was a French journalist recently that got killed by a tank. He had gotten in the way of its intended path, and the tank couldn't turn or slow fast enough to avoid him.
It's unfortunate, but it happens.
There are a lot of anti-American protests in Korea right now. They want to put the tank operators on trial in Korean courts. This is mainly because President Bush didn't issue a formal personal apology. The Koreans are not satisfied with an apology through the US ambassador.
Chances are, if they keep raising anti-US sentiment, we'll just pull all of our troops out of there and let them take care of the parallel on their own. That could be very bad for them.

it wasn't a tank that ran them over. if it was a tank that did hit them you probably wouldn't even be able to identify them as humans. it was an armored vehicle. something like this....

37,000 troops are stationed in South Korea. if they just leave think of the advantage North Korea has. North Korea still wants Korea to become one country. and i think they'll do whatever they can to see that it will happen.

from what i believe i dont think armored vehicles have the best lighting or the best field of view. it was an accident. however, i do believe that they should be recieve some sort of punishement.
