Chromagnon vs Neanderthal: were they the same species or different?

Whats everyone think? I love this topic, heh, i'm thinking a lot of people may not but i'm curious as to what everyone thinks.

I think they are actually completely different species and that they were so similar that they had even interbreeded at times, but neanderthals died out cause of their lack of adaption/over-adaption to the early earth that during the rapid age of change they couldn't adjust to ways to live. Their traditionalist ways of living were their undoing as they refused to think differently and work together in the groups that chromagnons lived in. They were families living, not the mini-civilizations chromagnons lived in and prospered. Their brain wasn't fit enough to live on, and they died out due to environment, hunting of them, lack of hereditary success, and inability to be as resourceful as the chromagnon.

Maybe neanderthals could have even been domesticated by chromagnons, but thats all speculation. Cause their bones have been found together.

agreed. However i would interpret the "living together" statement as them living together in some cases as opposed to domestication
