ya know, thats a really low CR for a turbo'd motor even if is only a 2.0L

probably pushing like 3lbs of boost or something small -_-;

much potential there, even on the stock turbo.

The US Spec Evolution 8 looks nicer every time i look at it. I've come to realize that the front grill is not that bad..but would've been better if it followed evo tradition. However, the glory is short lived. The geniuses at Subaru are releasing the WRX STi which has more horse and torque than the Evolution and looks [imo] alot better. This is the first time that Subaru has released the STi model in the US and whats even better is that the US Spec has better stats than overseas models. Finally for once! A car that actually doesnt get power taken away by the emissions fairy.

Once people start really aftermarket tuning the Lancer, it will surpass the WRX by far.

I beleive there is already an aftermarket company tuning 700hp lancers.

can any WRX STi at this point say the same?

Its to bad Mitsu overrated the hp numbers on the Evo. They only make about 260 at the engine, sub 190 at the wheels.

The STi looks like a winner so far. Cant argue with 300hp - tq + 6 speed + and driver controlled diffs. And 700hp Evo? You know how often that would break? Let alone how much cash one would need to invest? A 700hp Evo is not streetable. At all.

yeah i agree. my bf read dat somewhere. it said something like the Evo really only have about 20 hp more than the WRX - NOT the STI but the reg WRX.

True, but I dont think looks are one of the main points of the Evos. Like the WRXs, they are supposed to look purposeful.

Also, Ive been talking with a few people who have gotten 40+awhp from simple bolt ons. Sounds like a deal to me.

its pushing over 18psi..

Posted by v8what? on 04-03-2003 05:25 AM:

They only hit 18psi at around 3500rpm but falls out to around 15-16psi at redline. Its somewhat noticeable.
