-- xp not booting. (https://www.jusunlee.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=3483)

xp not booting.

sometimes xp doesnt boot for my athlon. instead of the winxp loading logo, there is a blank screen. seems that it has something to do with mup.sys, as the computer freezes when xp tries to load that file on safemode.

i searched google but there doesnt seem much useful information online. anyone experienced the same thing? any one know a solution?

for some reason i keep thinking your computer is missing a system file...but it shouldn't, since you said (xp installation) worked well on your other computer. umm, i can say is do a system restore and upgrade again.

eh

Jusun, was your processor overclocked at all? XP doesn't like to boot sometimes if the processor isn't stable, but that's probrably not the case...what kinda errors is it showing? or is it just black screen.
