every windows uses explorer as its shell

explorer unfortunately eats uup a lot of memory and can slow your computer down.

there are companies that develope shells that eat up less resources.

i use litestep, but i also have blackbox, and lite shell.

www.desktopian.org has a lot of shells

before installing any of these. READ THE DIRECTIONS CAREFULLY. CUZ YOURE ALSO SCREWING WITH YOUR SYSTEM.INI FILE THAT THE COMPUTER NEEDS TO USE TO BOOT.

the shell for windows is like..the START button and the menus

in my case, i changed my shell to a diff one with this result
it replaces my start button and menus with somethin different.

it also looks better
