-- 'why do i believe in God?' (https://www.jusunlee.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=10576)
Being as that I do not do things for a forum's sake, as these are not mine, I would rather handle this in person because it's much easier for me to do. So until one of these days in the library, I'll just leave this be. I had forgotten all of my arguments as a whole, and considering how much things have changed for me since I wrote that long post, there is no sense in doing it here. If you read this Jusun, let me just tell you now, in writing, that if you continually cut me off and don't listen to reason when we discuss this I'm going to leave it unfinished and that's OK with me. Hey, maybe it's OK with you too. It sure doesn't look like it though.

Throughout recorded history, religion has served to provide an explanation for the mysteries of life and existence, regulate and order the behaviors of people, and provide hope and consolation in times of difficulty. Though the scientific problems of the bible have been explained more logically and satisfactorily since the advent of modern technology, and philosophy, the belief in a supreme being should not be discarded. There are simply some questions, metaphysical and otherwise, which it seems that human intelligence will never be able to answer. For example, the "big bang" is a reasonable explanation for the "creation" of the universe, but one wonders still "where it all came from." Christianity in its pure form seems to be fazed out by modern society, but most people have grasped the essential elements of the credo. Christ said "Love God, and love thy neighbor as thyself." If the supreme being never reveals itself to us, then we must all find what we need in each other. Brotherhood and self sacrifice are the important elements of any truly civilized society. We still have a long way to go, but we should not be looking for answers from above.

People could argue that there could be substantial evidence disproving the exsistence of God but God would still exsist because God exsists beyond the evidence, that if God is all powerful then he could create a universe where every piece of evidence points out that he does not exsist.
