i might switch forum software to ibforums when v1.1 comes out (around the end of this month). after which i will finish skinning the forums. and i might also restrict access to the media section when its back up only to forum members with over 50 posts. maybe then we'll get more activity in these forums, not just zero posting new members.

and the ezine will be up by the end of this weeked (or monday possibly).

once everything is done, that is when v2 is finally complete, we'll have a week of 'jsl.com promotion'. ill go down to fortlee and visit the pc bangs there and hand out flyers. maybe some group of people can do the same for cali and atlanta.

ill admit i havent been working on the site as much as i want to, or should be. but i have to prepare for college now. even though i really have no clue where i want to go. but once december hits, ill promise ill work on this site full force again. i want to make this site as big as possible before i go to college.

which also reminds me. i might change the name of the site in the near future. i dont want this site to intefere with my personal life if it ever gets big. so im open to suggestions regarding future names for this site. the domain name has to be available though. and then ill probably go back to my original personal forums for this domain (jusunlee.com). i miss having a personal site...

im rambling but one last thing. im thinking of running these forums on democratic principles in the future. where people elect moderators and such. ill still be admin to maintain order but i dont think ill be around here much often once i get my personal site started again. and we'll outline some basic rights for forum members, privileges and appropriate behaivors for the moderators and supermoderators, and ill be some old hermit sitting in a corner all by myself, only to intervene when i really have to.

which reminds me. im going to re-evaluate moderators' performance next week. and relieve some moderators if i feel needed. this would include inactive moderators, moderators who i feel are not positive contributor to the forums, and moderators i feel are not qualified to moderate some forums theyre currently moderating.

these forums has been fun. people here are more civil than a lot of other past forums i went to. and i think a lot of it has to do with the moderators we have. a lot of how the forums are run are in the moderators hands, so its important we have the best and most qualified moderators we can have.

ofcourse, when i say this, im not implying ill fire everyone. infact, i might not even fire one single moderator. all im saying by this is: moderators are important.

haha. i dont think im making much sense now. but i have one more thing to say.

yea sure. i was always an advocate of spam, but the rest of the moderating team felt otherwise. so im not sure how well it will be recieved by the others if you do.

interesting idea.
another idea to note however: democracy in the hands of a small community leads to many small factions. Thus instead of an entire body voting for the couple electees, you might end up having a couple people running for office with their own seperate factions behind them. Popularity contests are what we're trying to avoid.
